Deanmore History

Established in 1961 to cater for a growing population in this area, Deanmore PS continues today as a quality public school serving the educational needs of those who are fortunate enough to call this beachside suburb home.

Deanmore has had a long and proud history as an innovative school with high standards and a curriculum that caters for a diversity of cultures, learning styles and parental expectations of schooling. The school enjoys a reputation for academic success and students consistently return results which are above State and National averages in external literacy and numeracy assessments.

Strong bonds exist across the school community with a highly supportive group of parents ever willing to support school staff with innovative and comprehensive curriculum delivery. This collaboration and the ongoing strong community partnerships make Deanmore a unique learning environment. We proudly report that in many instances parents have also been educated at Deanmore and want their child to experience the strong sense of community and emphasis on excellence that was a feature of their own youth. Due to its proud traditions the community worked hard to achieve a new school to ensure children in this beautiful suburb could continue to be educated at Deanmore.  At our 50th celebrations in December 2011 hundreds of former students returned to their alma mater to pay tribute to the role this fine public school played in their successful life’s journey.

We commenced operation in our state of the art new school in February 2011 and became an Independent Public School in 2012 following a response to the wishes of the community we serve.
